The Perfect Card

Image

Looking for a perfect card that will match the person’s personality can be a challenge especially for my sister who never ever change. She epitomizes the word sameness. That is, the same hair style for all those years.

She wears her hair on a bun!

Her hair is naturally long and black. Lucky person, no white hair for a 70-year-old. Unlike me, my hair is arctic white. I must have received all the white genes in our family.

As for a birthday card, we found the perfect image of her.

I kid you not, when we were younger, we ‘teased’ her hair to create a beehive.

Happy Birthday, sister.

Remember to remember

Henry Miller 1946

I want to remember as much as possible
the events of my life be it pleasant or
unpleasant as long as I can.  There are
times that I want to remember less.

Someone told me instead of remembering,
remember to forget. And I ponder about this
and what came to mind, sooner or latter
a time will come, it will happen without even
having to remember.

Hey, I don’t think that way….

Heavy graded lenses, my eyes can see all the visible surrounding changes
drums of my ears can still hear the faintest whistling of the hummingbirds
Tasty morsels I can still taste with the buds of my tongue
olfactory nerves will follow the aroma of night blossoms.
Not too concerned that there are laugh lines on my face
artic colour hair adds beauty and wisdom to black hair
Slow moving walking motion gives me more time to relax
speech will slow due to slower thinking process
Thanks to my brain, these senses still register
As time goes by ~
the brain will deteriorate due to ageing process
