To lose a pet always comes with anguish. You wake up everyday and there they are. It becomes so much like breathing you can’t imagine them not ever being there. They ask so little of us food, water, love and … Continue reading

The Call of the Wild

Gorgeous, tender, & true,
for even as the wild pack
of poet dogs that we are,
running reindeer & bigots
& politicians into a frenzy,
thanks for reminding us
that we are peregrine,
lone eagles, red-tailed hawks
as well & now I understand
why after a spirited
bout of writing,
I feel light-headed,
sometimes
getting nose bleeds
& wind burns.
