“I want my work to disappear into the landscape and then take a viewer by surprise. After he gets over the shock of being fooled, it becomes an emotional discovery. Then he owns the sculpture. People often revisit their favorites. They become like friends.” Seward Johnson
I could see her all the time as the Blue Bus passes by the entrance of Stanley Park this woman sitting on the bench. This is the first time we met close-up. She’s searching for something in her purse.
Did she lose a button that is hidden on her nest looking hairdo?
Or is it in between the pair of glasses sitting on her head?
Or between the cleavage of her breasts?
Who knows?
“It’s easy sometimes to forget the simple things that give us pleasure. If we open our eyes, life is marvelous. The human spirit triumphs, if only for moments in a day. I try to have my work call attention to those moments.” -Seward Johnson

Yes, the model much have been a beautiful woman, as well. I still have yet to catch who’s decorating her. The residence or business around or the tourist.
