It’s a wrap!

Cats have the ability to bounce back as if nothing ever bad happened to them especially when it comes to wrapping papers, bows and newspapers.

It’s pretty hard to keep them away and start preparing the presents for Christmas. One thing that I am stubborn about is buying proper decorative wrapping papers and just be thrown away. I am in the business of recycling. Old bows, cookies plastic bags and good old fashion newspapers.

Unfortunately, Lucy is such a Scrooge that she does not want to part with the gifts and it shows on her face.

Can’t get a smile from her pouty face.

It’s always a dilemma for me when it comes to gift giving especially I belong to a huge family. Buying just a gift for one person might cause some jealousy among them. So I had an idea.

I bought just one gift, put everyone’s name in a pot, and draw one name. There were forty names in the draw. All is fair in love.

Drum roll, please. And the winner is….

Family: a crazy bun of people who deeply care of each other, who live, laugh, forgive and love together.

Such resilience we have to stick together as a unit.

  1. The drawing idea is great. I have friends that draw names on Thanksgiving. Everyone buys one gift and gets one too. Lucy is just not a holiday cat…we would get along great. Blessings and Happy New Year!

  2. What a wonderful idea Perpetua! You need to get the rest of your family to do the same. We do, and we each draw 1 name for a gift we open at the family celebration (which I missed for the first time in 60+ years this year). Happy New Year and many blessings to you.

    • Isn’t that fun, Tina, to have a draw? Last year, the younger generation took over the drawing of names as secret santa. Us older generation just enjoy watching them. When the kids run out of money like I do, someone will take over my idea. Just one gift. Tee hee. All the best to you and yours. Love, Perpetua
