Spring brings fresh promises.
The first day of spring marks the arrival of greenhouse vegetables and last year Vancouver celebrated it with a party at the heart of the city that I did not miss.
The fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, lettuce and more greens grown as seedlings in greenhouses during the long dreary winter months, matured into ripe crops and harvested for the spring party.
Earls Restaurant participated on this event and sent their master chef to prepare us a freshly made scrumptious salad.
wow, I am just picking those things in Autumn here.
You must be down under. Have a greenhouse then you can have veggies all year long.
I do have veggies all year long- but just those that grow in season. I am now looking forward to the winter crops from my patch- lovely root veg, kale and so on.
Loving that fresh promise, those fresh vegetables. Makes one want to be there and enjoy the sight.
Oh was it ever enjoyable. I wanted to bring the greenhouse home with me. 😛
I think I’ll be making a fresh salade tonight… 🙂
Salad is always good everyday.
Now that I live in a house with a yard again I will plant vegetables . Right now plant flower seeds in the front.
Flowers to bring the bees to pollinate your vegies. Good for you! Here comes the vegie cartoons. 😛
Better yet … live in a large outdoor green house called Florida
where the fruits and veggies flow all winter … ME
You are in God’s country.
Nothing like from the ground fresh fruit and veggies. 🙂
They were so unbelievable sweet. Yummers.
Wonderful way to celebrate the first day of spring! 🙂
It was. I even had a bag of veg to take home with me.
