Let the little children come to me

Thousands of Catholic families from around the world gathered at the Vatican over the weekend to celebrate the Year of Faith with Pope Francis.A small group of children was invited to sit on the pope’s platform to listen to speakers from across the world speak about their faith and families.

Pope Francis and boy

Pope Francis was visibly amused when one child stayed on the stage instead of returning to his seat on the steps.

Let the children come to me and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.  Luke 18:16

  1. Thank you for sharing this clip. I did not know the entire story, nor had I seen all the photos. This truly shows the humility and power of this Pope and that of a child. In a world stained by scandal, conflict, greed, and violence we must remember, and embrace, the simple, deep beauty of grace and the human spirit.

    • I agree with you. There is too much good thing since he became Pope Francis. Children don’t normally become attracted to anyone unless they can “sense” how good nature a person is. I hope the world will give him a chance and be open to change.

    • Thank you, Brett. I normally have a distaste for people who are on a position such as Prime Ministers, Presidents or Pope. He seems to have a good head on his shoulder and an open heart. I sure hope that he will “reform” the Vatican.

  2. I think that that was an exercise in propaganda by the Vatican, because of all the child abuse accusations / Facts etc…
I am not fooled by it.

Please share your reflection. Thank you.
