Fun with Words ~ Word Play Masters Invitational
Reading your post, there are so many humorous writers out there. This is a challenge for you. Start putting on your thinking cap and join the fun.
The Washington Post’s Mensa invitational once again asked readers to take any word from the dictionary, alter it by adding, subtracting, or changing one letter, and supply a new definition. Here are the 2009 winners:
1. Cashtration (n.): The act of buying a house, which renders the subject financially impotent for an indefinite period of time.
2. Ignoranus : A person who’s both stupid and an asshole.
3. Intaxication : Euphoria at getting a tax refund, which lasts until you realize it was your money to start with.
4. Reintarnation : Coming back to life as a hillbilly.
5. Bozone (n.): The substance surrounding stupid people that stops bright ideas from penetrating. The bozone layer, unfortunately, shows little sign of breaking down in the near future.
6. Foreploy : Any misrepresentation about yourself for the purpose of getting laid.
7. Giraffiti : Vandalism spray-painted very, very high.
8. Sarchasm : The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person who doesn’t get it.
9. Inoculatte : To take coffee intravenously when you are running late.
10. Osteopornosis : A degenerate disease. (This one got extra credit.)
11. Karmageddon : It’s like, when everybody is sending off.

Feel free to pass this around according to WPMI. “It’s not ours. We don’t own it. We haven’t copyrighted it. We don’t want to. We just want to have some fun with words.”
Thank you, Marti of Just Outside the Box Cartoon.

Ahahaha… too funny. You should join Mensa.
Reblogged this on The Embiggens Project and commented:
This is my first official “reblog,” but I couldn’t resist. This is, after all, about WORDS (one of my favourite things) and it’s FUNNY (my other favourite thing).
And, if I had to come up with my own, it would be :
DUSTBUNION. A foot condition caused by walking in filth.
Fun is part of the game. Thank you for playing, face. And your word is funny.
Those people have quite the thinking cap – brilliant 😉
Aren’t they, huh? You have good vocabulary, Ms. g.
These are awesome, I’d be hard pressed to beat them!
Purrsuit – when a cat attacks after asking to be petted.

OOps! is catchy. The rest of the title will explain what the short stories all about.
Will the children be making contributions to the story as part of faith sharing?
good idea!!!
I make up new words every day, but it’s always because I have trouble with spelling. Many times my French kicks in and I mispronounce so much that people will burst out laughing – which is cool.
But now I’m keen to learn more about this fun game! Thanks, P! 🙂
Ok, Tk, come and share your word. I want to laugh with them.
Poternoster — one who didn’t inhale.
I think this is a dead person (tee hee).
Hilarious! Loved this post and so did hubby. 🙂
How about Catabolt – when cats decide the best course of action is to bolt!
Lucy 🙂
Scardie cat. Good one, Lucy. tee hee.
Does Lucy bolt? 😉
She is so funny, she does with sound effects. What’s the antics of your cat?
She does, with sound effects. She is so hilarious when she does it. What antics does your cat have?
She makes me laugh too! She is crawling around on her belly after the birds at the moment in the garden. Her meow is all shaky and totally irritated if she can’t get one! 🙂
Oh, the “meow” when there is a flying object around. I can imagine her lips flapping and making a sound. Don’t let her get the bird. 😛
It’s just so funny! I’m the Protector of the Birds so she won’t ever catch one 🙂 She’s cheeky, my Pippy!!
Great new definitions…especially, sarchasm.
It is hilarious. Only a witty person like you can truly relate to it. Hi, Mr. Woolly.
LOL~ Love the fun of wit!
Completely forgot about this. Thanks for bringing it to life 😂🤣😂
You are welcome! 🙂 You will notice in the comments at times that a lot of wit is exchanged with me and some other followers. Well just look at the comments in my Capture the Joy post. LOL!
I can’t top that! Here’s hoping that your Joy will rub on me.
Hahaha! I have had lots of practice!
