A Cat Prayer

An epiphany:  I think we are ruled by cats based on the cat incident.

Maurice, Lucy… do you know how lucky you are?  I am your slave and at your beckon call.  My life revolves around you and the apartment has been rearranged so many times just to cater to your whims.  I sure hope you are grateful and thankful for what you have.
You do know what happened during the past few days, didn’t you?

Huh…What are you talking about, human?

  1. Hahaha! They know exactly what you said. Lol They are adorable and I want to snuggle into them. Kiss them for me and tell them Paula said, Hi!! 🙂
    Hugs xxxxx

      • Yes, two of them: a tuxedo cat (Sophie) and a black and white long hair (Patches). Indoors only, but Patches will often zip by and eat the grass — though we are careful when opening the door. 🙂

  2. lol…That was fun..
    The real version of this

    Childs Prayer

    Now I lay me down to sleep.
    I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
    If I should die before I wake,
    I pray to God my soul to take.
    If I should live for other days,
    I pray the Lord to guide my ways.

    Father, unto thee I pray,
    Thou hast guarded me all day;
    Safe I am while in thy sight,
    Safely let me sleep tonight.
    Bless my friends, the whole world bless;
    Help me to learn helpfulness;
    Keep me every in thy sight;
    So to all I say good night.

    My Gran used to say this to me and my cousins at bedtime. And above the door she has this gold plated, bashed up metal picture. When she passed, and everyone went to the house, the grandkids all were allowed to pick one thing. I picked this from above the room we all slept in.
    To this day I have it above my kids bedroom. Now I have two kids bedrooms, I hang it in the middle of both doors. I know this blog was intended as fun, and it was, but it brought a teary memory of my Gran and how she said this. And how I went into the house and choose this tackety old metal picture “A childs Prayer” Nobody else wanted it. To me, it meant the world. And still does it. Sometimes I will tuck the kids in, close the door, and close my eyes and read it into myself. And sometimes, it may be me, but I am sure I can hear my Grans voice in there with my thoughts….

    Thank you for jogging my memory on a moment

    • So sweet of you sharing your Gran story and I think you have a gold mine for have chosen this plate. Then your children and hopefully your children’s children will pass the story down the line.
      Wow, talking about picking your brain, Shaun. Cheers.

      • Yeah it just struck the right cord in my mind and it reminded me of my Gran and the metal picture.. When it was just the boys it was always above their door..when the girls came along, I but it in the middle..And you are right..Maybe one of the girls will take it for their kids one day… I hope so..As my Gran got it from her Gran…Yeah…lol..So this is DEEP family meaning..Money doesn’t interest me when people I love pass, moments and memories do…

        Thanks you xx

  3. They are the daily reminders of the goodness in our hearts. I believe our cats, our animal companions, are the voices of our souls that remind us to be kind, compassionate and loving- even when everything seems to be going wrong. Your kitties are so lovely.

Please share your reflection. Thank you.
